One hundred miles straight ahead is Cuba, I'd recommend using a boat. This is the ocean/rocky side of the island of Isla Mujeres in Mexico. There are beautiful beaches on the North end of the island, I'll show you some of them in subsequent posts. Isla is 5 miles long and about 1/2 mile wide. The South side of the island is the first place in Mexico that sunlight strikes every day. Early in the morning of New Years Day the Mayans gather to celebrate the sunrise, I understand that most of them have been in the Plaza drinking and dancing all night, so I imagine the sun is welcome site.
